This is a very high quality petrified wood from Live oak county Texas. A lot of the petrified wood you find in this area is very unique as it was a tropical forest at one time with volcanic eruptions probably from south west Mexico covering the forest leading to its petrification. The highly sought after pieces were at one time rotting or decaying wood that was covered with ash and then petrified leading to amazing colors and patterns.
