Wine, Crystals and Fossils - the ultimate Glen Rose rock hunting afternoon

For this Single-Day Expedition to the Glen Rose Formation in Lampasas County, we’ll start by meeting at the picturesque Stoneledge Winery. Your afternoon will kick off with a guided crystal hunt and fossil dig, where you'll uncover hidden treasures in the best outcroppings, while learning about the unique geology of the area from an expert geologist. After the hunt, we'll head back to the winery to relax with a complimentary glass of wine, soaking in the stunning views and cool breezes at the very top of the uplift. Food is available to purchase at the winery - pizza and charcuterie. To wrap up the afternoon, you'll participate in a hands-on crystal identifying workshop, where you'll gain valuable skills in recognizing and understanding your finds. This is the perfect blend of adventure, learning, and leisure! Participants may opt to purchase a Fossick rock hounding kit at a discounted rate, which we'll bring along on the day. Bring buckets and bags for all of your treasures! We recommend layers and a light jacket, and close-toed shoes - the weather at this time of year varies. Event cost is $109 per participant, but the early bird super-saver rate is $65 per person (price increase to $75 on October 1st).
